The global pandemic changed the way universities teach. Higher Education Institutions across the globe adopted forms of online, hybrid and blended teaching to overcome periods of lock-down. In doing so, universities inadvertently moved into a state of (accelerated) digital transformation. Hybrid-e’s chief objective is to support universities navigating through this transformative phase and embrace more permanent forms of hybrid teaching models: a mix of on campus teaching and use of digital technology for online, hybrid and blended components. The project will focus primarily on equipping teaching staff and professional support staff with the necessary skills and awareness of digital technology and use of data. Ultimately, Hybrid-e will help universities enhance the quality of education by providing guidance on deploying digital technology based on a clear educational vision.
HYBRID-E in few words...
What does hybrid-e mean by hybrid teaching models?
A mix of on campus teaching, while using forms of online, blended and hybrid teaching for specific components of courses or a study programme. Hybrid-e considers digitalisation as a means to enhance the quality of teaching and equip teachers and students to make the most out of on campus interactions. In order to achieve this, it is key that the use of digital technology is done in a systematic, proactive, responsible and sustainable way.
